I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
